Potful Meal privacy policy

The short version

  • Your recipes, saved ideas, grocery list, fridge checks and setup answers are saved on your iPhone, not on our servers.
  • When Potful Meal finds ideas or reads a recipe or a fridge photo, what it needs is sent through our server to OpenAI, and nothing is kept afterward.
  • You don't need an account.
  • No ads, no tracking across apps, and we never sell your information.

What stays on your iPhone

Recipes you save or import, ideas you liked or skipped, your grocery list, fridge and health checks, and your setup answers (cuisines, cooking gear, diet, allergies, goal, time). Deleting the app removes them.

What the AI receives

To suggest ideas, the app sends your setup answers and the meal it's looking for (and, if you checked your fridge, the foods found). To read a recipe or a fridge, it sends the page or the photo you chose. Our server, run on Cloudflare, passes this to OpenAI, which may search the web for recipes, and returns the answer. We ask the AI company not to store these requests, and they aren't used to train AI models. It may keep requests for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes them. Our server keeps no copy; it keeps only daily request counts for an anonymous device ID, deleted after two days, to stop abuse and keep costs in check.

Camera, photos and location

The camera and your photos are used only when you choose to show a fridge, a pantry or a recipe. Your location is used only when you ask for grocery stores nearby, on your iPhone with Apple Maps, and isn't sent to our server.

Calvio

If you tap "Log in Calvio", the serving opens in our Calvio app on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.

Estimates

Nutrition and health levels are estimates. Check labels for allergies; Potful Meal can't promise a recipe is safe for an allergy.

Children

Potful Meal isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
